J&T Express Hits Record: Over 100 Million Parcels Handled Globally in One Day on Double 11, Fueled by Strong Regional Growth

J&T Global Express Limited (“J&T Express” or “J&T” or “the Company”, stock code: 01519), a worldwide logistics provider, has reached a significant milestone by managing over 100 million parcels globally in a single day during this year’s Double 11 shopping festival on November 12.

The Double 11 festival marks a peak shopping season for China and Southeast Asia. Between October 20 and November 12, J&T Express experienced substantial growth in parcel volume across both regions. In China, the daily average parcel volume for this timeframe approached 66 million, reflecting a 25% increase year-over-year (“YoY”), which sets a new record. In Southeast Asia, from November 1 to 11, the daily average parcel volume surpassed 15 million, indicating an impressive 73% YoY growth.

In preparation for the anticipated rise in parcel volumes during the various year-end shopping events, J&T Express took early measures in several markets, enhancing its infrastructure and workforce investments to ensure efficient operations and high service quality. In China, responding to business predictions and actual production requirements, J&T revamped and upgraded 32 sorting centers nationwide, expanding their operational areas and improving service timeliness. Additionally, over 600 distribution hubs and outlets were enhanced, with more than 400 automated equipment units introduced to boost operational capacity and effectively handle peak parcel volumes.

Leveraging the significant growth opportunities in Southeast Asian markets and maintaining close partnerships with e-commerce clients, J&T Express anticipated the increase in e-commerce parcel volume for Double 11 and made proactive arrangements. In both September and October, J&T Express Vietnam deployed 300+ trucks and established its largest sorting center in North Vietnam, which features cutting-edge operational technology. This facility, now operational, achieves a parcel handling accuracy rate of 99.99%, greatly improving operational efficiency.

In Thailand, J&T Express upgraded four sorting centers and five distribution hubs, incorporating more than 13 automated equipment units to enhance operational output. As a result, the peak processing capacity of sorting centers increased by around 25%, while distribution hubs experienced a 20% improvement. Furthermore, J&T Express Thailand expanded its sorting area by about 19,000 square meters, added over 900 transport vehicles, and hired more than 3,800 staff to support the rising demands in sorting, delivery, and customer service.

In other emerging markets, Black Friday (November 29th) represents the peak logistics season in Latin America. J&T Express has noted a marked increase in parcel volumes in Brazil and Mexico. To prepare for this upcoming peak, J&T Express in these countries has taken proactive steps to invest in infrastructure and human resources, upgrading automated systems to fulfill the high-quality express service expectations of clients and consumers alike.
